The special offers great and rare interviews and full, complete Beatle
songs including very early stuff. It is narrated by Scott Muni who later
had a syndicated Beatle radio series called
Ticket to Ride. Scott offers his own accounts of his involvement with
the super group, along with Cousin Brucy. What makes this something special
is the emphasis placed on their first visit
to America in February, 1964 and their early years. Hear rare interviews
by Walter Cronkite who relates the story that his CBS news hour was the
first to feature the boys before Jack
Paar or Ed Sullivan. Hear the fabs in a special recording at a Washington
DC radio station where they meet the first DJ (Marsha) who introduced I
Want to Hold Your Hand to America.
And, of course, comments by John, Paul, George and Ringo. Not the normal
old stuff you usually hear in these kind of programs. Also, extended commentary
by Pete Best and George
Martin. Probably most importantly, though, is over 60 complete and
unedited songs by the greatest music group in history. The program follows
the history of the Beatles through the
Revolver album. The program is in its entirety -- it does not cover
the Pepper or Apple years.
